あらすじ
理不尽な解雇により職を失った青年・直井玲斗は、追い詰められた末の過ちで逮捕される。運に身を委ね、将来を思い描くことも、人生の選択を自ら決める意志もなかった。そんな彼に運命を変える出会いが訪れる。依頼人の指示に従うなら、釈放する――突如現れそう告げる弁護士の条件を呑んだ玲斗の前に現れたのは柳澤千舟。大企業・柳澤グループの発展に大きく貢献してきた人物であり、亡き母の腹違いの姉だという。「あなたに、命じたいことがあります」それは、月郷神社に佇む＜クスノキの番人＞になることだった。戸惑いながらも番人となった玲斗は、さまざまな事情で境内を訪れる人々と出会う。クスノキに定期的に足を運び続ける男・佐治寿明。その娘で父の行動を不審に思う女子大生・佐治優美。家業の継承に葛藤する青年・大場壮貴、彼らや千舟と関わるうちに、玲斗の世界は、少しずつ色を帯びていく。
